The Big Weekend part 1

Talk about busy! Last weekend we all went to visit Auntie Kendle and Uncle Bryan. Mummy, Daddy, Gopi, Ammar, and of course yours truly all piled into the car and drove down Friday night. I didnt like it much. I made sure to let everyone know I didnt like it much. Eventually we got to Auntie Kendle's and settled in to sleep. Saturday, we went to see the History Museum. Boy was that place BIG! We also watched an IMAX movie about coral reefs. That was wierd because it looked like the fish were swimming off the screen and into your lap. The movie made Mummy hungry for Red Lobster.

After the movie, we went back to Auntie Kendle's house. My friend Victoria and her parents came over to play before we all went out to dinner. Victoria's grandparents stopped by to say hello, too. Victoria and I played with Eater eggs while the grown ups talked.

Victoria's dad loves this place called The Salt Lick and we had decided to eat there to see what all the hype was about. So we drove, and drove, and drove, and DROVE for miles! It was almost in another state! Well, maybe not that far, but still it was a loooong way. One of the waiters even had a shirt that said "The Salt Lick. Way the HECK out yonder, but worth every mile!" Mummy had to admit it was the best BBQ she had ever had. I ate my share, too. I tried brisket and potato salad but my favorite was the ribs. Yummy ribs! I even had some of Ammar's ice cream for dessert. We all had a great time. Good food, good friends, good times. The picture is of me and Victoria visiting at the Salt Lick.

Hey Boo Boo!

Is that a pik-a-nik basket, I see? Cheers to all my fellow Yogi Bear fans! (Yogi Berra fans,too! ::wink::) Mummy and I met The Girls for a picnic lunch at the Arboretum. It was such a nice sunny day. We all spread out in the shade to eat and talk. I decided my friend Allie had a better lunch than I did, so I helped myself to her chicken fingers and fries from Sonic. Who needs grapes and cheese when you can have Sonic?! I'm so glad she didn't mind sharing. As a matter of fact, every one wanted to share with me! Even the family at the next blanket was kind enough to share toys with me. I let Mummy make all the arrangements, I was too busy making off with the loot!

Once we returned the toys, we decided to check out the flowers. Everything was so beautiful! So many colors! They looked good enough to eat. I sampled a few and yes they did taste as good as they looked. I wanted to go back for seconds, but Mummy said I should look with my eyes and not my hands, and definitely not my mouth! Little Golden Books

Mummy had Little Golden Books when she was growing up, so when they were republished she was very excited and started collecting them for me. I love looking at the pictures and turning the pages. The corners are pretty tasty, too!

A day at the park

Hello, all! First allow me to apologize. Mummy and Daddy have changed computers and the new one doesnt have photo editing software on it so the pictures arent as good as they could be. Mummy says they are still darn cute tho! Anyway...

A couple of weeks ago Mummy and I went to the park. It was a nice sunny day and I had so much fun! I got to swing in the big kids swing, too. Boy was that a blast! I have pretty much outgrown my swing at the house. A pity too because I did love it. The swing at the park went higher and faster than my little baby swing.

Afterwards, we walked around to where the ducks were napping. They woke up really fast when Mummy brought out the crackers! The ducks came right up to us. I could almost touch them! Mummy says they were just like the ducks in my book Make Way for Ducklings except these Mallards didnt have any babies yet.

On our way back to the car we noticed some big kids had been bused over from their school to have lunch in the park. They were the biggest kids I had ever seen! They had to be at least 10 years old and they were climbing and jumping and doing all sorts of big kid things. I wanted to go over and make friends but Mummy said it was nap time. Maybe next time we go to the park I can play with them.
